Chris Truss

International Development & Sustainability Director, Reed & Mackay

Chris has worked in the travel industry for over 20 years with experience across the travel management spectrum including travel management, consulting, global account management and environmental and sustainability development. At Reed & Mackay, Chris is responsible for driving Reed & Mackay’s internal strategy and activity in the environmental and sustainability space as well as leading our client engagement in this key area.

During his career, Chris has worked with a wide range of multinational clients primarily whilst a Global Business Manager – where he managed large multi country programmes for some of HRG’s largest clients. Following this, he led the  formation and growth of the Capita Travel & Events Consulting team, leading all consulting activity for the business, working to help clients develop, model and deliver sustainable travel programmes including all associated activity, reporting and strategy.

Chris now leads sustainability activity across both the Reed & Mackay and TripActions businesses and is responsible for the sustainability strategy across the group. This role includes leading the development of services and solutions that clients require, consulting with key corporate clients on their own sustainability initiatives and managing a growing number of third party suppliers who add to the capability of the business to support the sustainable travel needs of our clients. Most recently, Chris concluded the first ever agreement enabling TripActions Group clients to purchase Sustainable Aviation Fuel through Neste, the world’s leading producer of sustainable aviation fuel.

Chris has a degree in Environmental Chemistry and a deep and continued love of the natural world, when not at work he can usually be found on top of a hill, in a river or on his bike.
