Zlatko Kregar was born in 1981, in Zagreb, Croatia. After graduating experimental physics on the University of Zagreb, he performed research in field of plasma spectroscopy at the Institute of Physics, Zagreb. In 2013, he obtained a Ph.D. in experimental atomic physics on the University of Zagreb. Since 2014, he is working for the European Commission as a policy officer. From 2014 to 2021 in Directorate General for Environment, in the Clean Air unit, focusing on pollutant emission standards from vehicles (development of the RDE procedure and the conception and the development of Euro 7 standards). Since May 2021, he is a policy officer in DG Mobility and Transport, Sustainable and Intelligent Transport Unit, where he focuses on the alternative fuels, the development of the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation and corporate fleet emissions.
