GBTA Conference 2019 - MUNICH in Partnership with VDR - First Timers Session

Tuesday - 19 November: 11h30-12h30

Attending for the first time and not sure where to go or what to do? Don’t know anyone?

We understand that this can be a daunting experience so we want you to feel reassured that this will be a great experience and you’ll feel at home right from the start.

We will be holding a First Timers session on Tuesday 19 November at 11.30 am just for all first time attendees.

This session will talk you through the practicalities and allow you to hear from the GBTA team and industry peers about how to get the most from your Conference experience from both a buyer and supplier perspective. By the end, you’ll walk out knowing at least a few people to say hello to as you walk round and arrange to meet up for coffee or cocktails at Big Night Out.

You’ll find out more about the tools that are on offer to support you, such as 'My Conference Planner', hear about the research that GBTA carries out and get some top tips from the panel including the benefits of GBTA membership.

Some top tips for you attending your first Conference:

  • Register early to take advantage of the great Early Bird offers and preferential accommodation options
  • Download the Conference app and familiarise yourself with the range of support it offers. This will be sent to you with full instructions when we launch.
  • Follow speakers on Twitter to find out even more about their sessions, make connections and join the conversation with our official hashtag #GBTAVDR19. Follow GBTA Europe on social media here.

  • You don’t have to register for Education Sessions as these are first come first served but it helps to look through the schedule and think about which ones you want to attend to make the most of your time. Make sure you get to sessions as early as you can as they can get very full!
  • Don’t forget your business cards as the First Timers’ Session will allow you to network with others attending for the first time, helping you to broaden your business network and make those important connections.
  • Wear layered clothes so you can make sure you’re warm or cool enough and wear comfortable shoes!

Over three-quarters of First Timers at GBTA Conference 2018 - Berlin in Partnership with VDR indicated their overall experience was “above average” or “excellent”; while the majority said they would definitely recommend attending the GBTA Conference 2019 - Munich In Partnership with VDR to a colleague or friend.

You can be assured that as a First Timer, you’ll have a great experience which will be helped even further by coming along to this First Timers’ session.

If you want to ask anything about your conference experience in advance, don’t hesitate to contact enquiries@gbta.org. We’re very approachable and want you to have the best possible experience.
